Coming from Jersey to the Bay for my first year of university, everything felt unfamiliar at first. It’s funny how, in a new place, it’s the smallest things that end up grounding you—the places and people that quietly give you a sense of ease. For me, that became EK’s shop.
EK’s work speaks for itself, but what stayed with me even more was who he is. He’s thoughtful, genuine, and it shows in the way he goes out of his way for people—keeping his shop open late when my bus ran behind, never rushing a cut, always making time for real conversation, and even offering to drive me home when it was raining.
I’m heading to Boston next semester—grateful I found this gem, but sad to be leaving it behind.
